This Weekend

Tonigh I am gonig to my friend's surprise birthday party. Then tomorrow I am going to what used to be Taylor Univeristy to give a witness at the diocesan Confirmation Rally. On top of those two things I will be working on scholarship applications, catchin up on calc hw, and reading Oedipus for ap english lit.

First Snowfall

I love the snow, however I despite driving in it. I did not have to drive last night, but this morning was horrible driving into school.

Thanksgiving

I had a great time with family and friends over break! I did go shoping but not particularly for the black friday sales.

I am excited for Thanksgiving because my family is hosting it this year! I am happy to see my whole family all together. This weekend I will celebrate thanksgiving with my family, then possibly go shopping on Fridy (not super early though), and then spend time with friends.

2 Runners Die During a Philedelphia Marathon

Many, including the race director, state that they are completly saddened by the death of these two individuals. The identification of the two who have been confirmed dead has not yet been revealed since officials are attempting to contact the families of the victims. The race is open to anyone who registers, meaning they do not have to have a qualifying time to participate. Many other runners who took part in this race said that the weather was perfect for running and were shocked to hear of the death of the two individuals.

Three Day Weekend

This weekend I am going to celebrate my brother's birthday and a friends. I am also going on a college visit to St. Mary's College.

I am not old enough to vote yet, however if I was I would vote at the Greek Orthodox Church near my house.

This morning I woke up at 7 to take my little brother to school. After, I went to breakfast with my cousins and some friends.

Halloween

Halloween is not my particularly favorite holiday, however I do enjoy the pumpkin carving aspect. There are so many ways to carve a pumpkin whether it is the classic jack-o-lantern or and actual carving into the side of the pumpkin. Here is a video of a carving.

First off, I am not a huge fan of Halloween. My plans are to hand out candy to the little neighbor kids and then collect cans for community harvest food bank with some friends.

Dress Down Day for Redeemer Radio & $ Raised/paying for dress down day

Tomorrow is a special day for Bishop Dwenger. The students have the opportunity to donate $1 to benefit the radio station to dress down in return. If every student dresses down and donates $1 our school will be able to raise over $1000 for the Redeemer Radio Station.

Gadhafi is dead in Lybia. His death was confirmed by the Lybian primeminister today. He died of wounds during his capture near his home town.

Jigme married his longtime girlfriend on Wednesday. He is a 31 Oxford University Graduate marring 21 year old, Jetsun. It was a small private wedding inside an ancient monastic fortress.

Although they do not require both tests, they have found it be at the students advantage to take both tests more than once.
SAT: 1600 (math and reading score)
ACT: average or high score
Essay: required so that the admissions counselor can learn about you

I think that the application process seems a bit rigorous, however most of the students are in the top 20% of their classes in high school. I think that their requirements may be a bit tough but are attainable.

2 Hour Delay

This morning I woke up to my cellphone, to my surprise it was Indiana's Newscenter making me aware that there was a 2 hour delay for Bishop Dwenger. I then went back to seep for another hour.

Homecoming Week

This homecoming week I am going to help with the NHS Day, by working the lunch and the bake sale.

What I am Learning

In my web page design class I have learned how to create a website. Our first project that we did was creating a blog for ourselves. Second we did a project out of our text books, made a website for Colorado National Parks, with multiple pages, absolute and relative links, and images. Now we are working on an autobiography website, which has 5 pages total.

Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend I went to the Dwenger football game on Friday night. On Saturday I went to my little brother's football game against St. Judes and then had dinner with my grandparents and aunt after.

Hurricane Irene has already caused much damage to the east coast. Last night the dangerous storm entered Canada. It has caused heavy rain, and the worst floods in Vermont for over 100 years. Millions are left without power, killed two dozen, and forced airlines cancel about 9,000 flights. 

This Friday is the first home football game of the season vs. Concordia. Who do you think will win?

This image represents me because my summer after my freshman year and my junior year I went to chicago then cincinnati for a missionary summer, serving the needs of the people and community. This program brings together people from all around the world, and is based in mexico.

Tragedy at the Indiana State Fair

On August 15, 2011, just before the band Sugarland was about to perform, the organizers of the state fair found themselves quickly evacuating the crows as winds began to rise to 60-70 mph. To many people's surprise much of the stage equiptment, such as lights and speakers, had crashed to the ground killing five people. Although five people died at the state fair, many cities around Indiana, including Fort Wayne, are having memorial services for the families who lost loved ones in this tragedy.  

Summer 2011

I spent my summer in Chicago on a 6 week mission trip. There was a group of 6 missionaries from all around the world. We did all sorts of service work such as homless missions and working at soup kitchens. After this trip we took a family vacation to Siesta Key for a week. It was one of my best summers!
